Short hair hamster, matted fur?
basically, my little Honey has developed matted hair around, (well, might be the hips but i'm just guessing)
have tried combing with soft toothbrush but to no avail i dont no wots wrong with her. i lost her like for a week, and she turned up 1 day ago. i only noticed this today, but i haven't seen her much. her eyes are nice and bright, but she is incredibly tired, more so than usual, tho whether is cos she tired herself out being loose, i dont no.
i dunno if this might help but shes NOT a long hair, she's round about 9 mnths, 9 weeks old or summat. oh, as i mentioned she was lost (could've got under the floor llike last time) and to prove it she has VERY mucky paws.
Help?

Hm. Sounds like she got into something while she was out, and then tried to clean herself with those mucky paws and made it worse. :]
I suggest getting some chinchilla sand for her, put it in a bowl, and see if she'll take a sand bath. That will suck up the oil and make the fur less likely to stick to itself and mat up.
After she rolls in it a few minutes, take it out, or else it will turn into the bathroom for her. ;]
Just remember not to give her a water bath unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, and even then only in an inch or two of water, and then make sure she's TOTALLY dry before going back, or else you risk wet-tail.
If she doesn't perk up to her usual self after a couple days, a trip to the vet would be advisable. But you probably knew that.
